At the last AOH meeting, it was pointed out that while the “Kroger Cares” program is bringing in monies for the building fund, it has a much greater potential. We have distributed 30 Gift Cards to members so far. Those 30 members have generated rebates of $650.00 to date. We have about 150 members in the AOH and LAOH divisions. Just think of how much more we could earn, in rebates, if more members joined the program?
Here’s how it works. Purchase a “Gift Card” for $5.00. This establishes a $5.00 credit on your Gift Card.. When you visit a Krogers store, stop at the customer service desk first. Add the money you are going to spend that day on groceries, gas etc. to your Gift Card. You may add value to your Gift Card by using cash, a check, a credit card or a debit card. When checking out, use your Gift Card (just as you would use a credit card) to pay for your purchases. Kroger will then rebate the Hibernians 5% of that purchase. It’s that simple. Really!
You may also get a “Kroger Plus Card” for discounts on your groceries and gas purchases. You get your discounts from the Kroger Plus Card and the Hibernians get a 5% rebate on your purchases, when paid for with your Gift Card.

Fifty people enjoyed the fellowship and beautiful weather for our third annual Sandpiper trip. As usual, the food was great and plentiful. The smaller crowd this year allowed us more room to spread out and move about the boat. The only thing missing was our surprise guest of honor, Sister Ann who missed the boat, literally, by thinking the boat trip was the following week. Fortunately, this year there was no parking lot incident so Mur and Gloria were able to enjoy the trip.
The LAOH will meet at the convent on September 24 at 7:00 for social time and 7:30 for the meeting.
