BUILDING FUND

 

The Building Fund: I’m glad to see in  the notes from the ladies’
meeting that a get together of the reactivated building committee is being planned.  Why now? Well, we are thinking about throwing a nice amount
of money into the fund.  That’s great!  However,  it is  my understanding that the building fund, set up when we started the Kroger card promotion, was restricted. The funds could not be used for any reason other than to purchase a  building.  I’m sure that I will be sitting on a cloud playing a harp   instead of  drinking a  harp, when we have enough funds  to  purchase a building.  I  requested that  there be a building committee with representatives from each group.  I think we need to look at the feasibility of renting a building.  The insurance cost, the cost for a license, the cost for utilities, etc etc.  I think we need to look at what size building we will be able to support.  We need to look at what activities we will use to support the building.  Two nights a month will not work.  If the men want to get together for sporting events ala  a sports bar and the ladies want to have a tea room, we better figure out a way to accommodate both groups.
I guess that that there will be a  building committee meeting at Greg Cassidy’s office, 5217 Monroe St. on either October 2 or October 10 at 7:30.  You will have to give  Greg a call at  419-944-1238 for information about the meeting.
