NEWS FROM THE JOINT BOARD

Following the April Joint Board meeting, we have set up a committee to look into establishing the Hibernian Scholarship Fund.  The men’s representatives are Tom King and John Mohr and the ladies representatives are Karen Sample and Mur Bookmiller. Thanks to them for volunteering for the job. They will be meeting soon.

The Kroger Scrip program is doing excellent.  Thanks to Danny McCarthy for his insight in this matter, We have received $363.43 so far with another check expected in June.  All monies will be deposited into a separate credit union account.

We met with Gloria King from the Holiday Inn French Quarter in Perrysburg to discuss the July 2007 state convention. Matt, Sherri, Ann and I formed the initial committee but will be needing LOTS of volunteers to head up the committees needed to host a state convention (July 12, 13 and 14, 2007)! Many hands make light work. Volunteer NOW!!

 Sincerely,

Tricia Cassidy

Joint Board President

NEWS FROM THE JOHN P KELLY DIV.

The benefit for dancer, John Nygard was a big success.  We had a good crowd and everyone enjoyed the Heinzman dancers and watching John Connolly perform.  Keltic Kaleidoscope and John Connolly donated their talents and played for the crowd.  We were able to give John $500.00 to help defray the costs of going for the World Championship!

Tim Galvin, the John P. Kelly Division and deputy state AOH Pro-Life Chairman,  has published an article on Respect Life.  It is one of a series of five in the May 5th Catholic Chronicle (p.8).

Way to go, Tim!!

On a sad note, one of our own members, Tom Driscoll, passed away on Wednesday, May 3rd.

Please keep Tom and his wife, Kathy in your prayers.  Upon reading our May newsletter, Kathy saw the article on Colleen Kummer and decided to make the donations from Tom’s funeral go to Colleen.  She said that Tom would have wanted it that way.  Also, keep Fr. Mike Geiger in your prayers as his father died in an automobile accident recently.

Remember the Mudhens baseball game on Thursday, June 15th at 7:00. See you there!

 Sincerely,

Matt Cassidy

John P. Kelly Division President
